Privacy
The app
Hellwach collects no personal data. There is no user account, no sign-in and no server operated by the developer. The app sends no usage data, no crash reports and no identifiers to third parties. It contains no advertising or analytics components.
What stays on your device
The access key for the Hue Bridge and the fingerprint of its certificate are stored in the iPhone’s keychain. Your chosen room order and the identifiers of alarms set on the iPhone are kept in the app’s settings on the device. Deleting the app through the iPhone’s settings removes them.
What goes to your devices
The wake-up times you set are sent to the Philips Hue Bridge and to the Sonos speakers on your Wi-Fi network and stored there. This transfer takes place solely on your local network. What Signify and Sonos process in their own apps and services is governed by their privacy policies; Hellwach has no influence over that.
This website
The site is operated by a hosting provider. When you open it, the provider processes technically necessary connection data such as IP address, time and the file requested, in order to deliver the page and defend against attacks. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in secure operation under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. No cookies are set, no fonts or scripts are loaded from third-party servers, and no analytics are used.
Language choice
So that the site doesn’t keep sending you back to a language you didn’t ask for, it remembers your choice in your browser’s session storage. That entry contains nothing but the code of the chosen language, never leaves your device, and is deleted when you close the browser tab. It is required for the site to work, so no consent is needed for it.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
